Eligibility
Mid-trip travel is available for Short Term Assignments (STA) that are at least six (6) weeks in duration. Assignments less than six (6) weeks are not eligible for mid-trip travel.
What's Covered: Amazon will pay for one weekend return flight during your STA. This trip is to be taken during your days off to travel back to your current residence location.
Scheduling Your Mid-Trip
You may take your mid-trip during any weekend that does not affect training schedules. However, you must obtain approval from your direct manager to ensure the selected weekend does not interfere with other planned programs at the STA site.
Submission Requirements: All mid-trip travel requests must be submitted no later than two (2) weeks in advance from the travel date to the Assimilation Coordinator via the Submit a Request form. Any mid-trip travel received less than two (2) weeks in advance will not be guaranteed.
Guest Visit Option
Instead of traveling home, you may arrange for a guest to visit you at your STA location as an alternative to your scheduled return trip home.
Guest Visit Details:
- Amazon will cover the round-trip flight for your guest in lieu of the mid-trip travel
- All other expenses are out-of-pocket expenses
- You must alert the hotel that there will be an extra guest staying
- Any extra costs incurred by the guest staying at the hotel are your responsibility
RSR and RSR+ Sites Only
Operations and Area Managers must adhere to standardized travel schedules:
- Flights will be arranged for Fridays, allowing employees to return to their home residence
- Return flight to the STA location will be the following Monday
- These travel dates are not flexible and must be followed as scheduled
- Your STA Coordinator will communicate the specific travel dates to you
- These travel arrangements are exclusively for managers
- Guests are not permitted during these trips
